Gosaikunda Trek On The Special Occasion Of Holi


Gosaikunda is one of the religious place situated in Langtang region of Nepal. It is famous for its holy lake and many people from Nepal and India come to worship this place. Now, this place has been a way more popular and we can many people from all around the world. It is located in Rasuwa district at an elevation of 4,380 m. This place is popular not only from religious point of view, but also due to majestic views of mountains, lakes, greenery, wildlife and cultural diversity.

Likewise, to experience that beauty, we the group of 6 people went for Gosaikunda Trek on 25th March, 2021. It was total of  3 night 4 days. 

Here is the itinerary of Gosaikunda Trek of 3 nights and 4 days:

Day 1: KTM - Dhunche (2000 m)

Day 2: Dhunche - Cholangpati (3550 m) 

Day 3: Cholangpati - Gosaikunda (4380 m) - Singgumba (3250 m)

Day 4: Singgumba - Dhunche - KTM


Day 1: KTM - Dhunche 

On 25th March, 2021 on Thursday, we started our journey towards Dhunche at 5 pm by reserving a scorpio. It took around 5 and half hours to reach Dhunche. After that, we stayed at lodge and had our dinner at 10:30 pm and went for sleep.

Day 2: Dhunche - Cholangpati 

Early morning, after having breakfast, we headed our journey towards Cholangpati. This day, we only walk uphill for about 6 hours to reach Cholangpati. We had our lunch at Dhimsa. The beautiful view of Ghatte Khola, rhododendron forest and beautiful villages inhabited by Tamangs and Sherpas made this day a more special one. Overnight, we stayed at lodge.

Day 3: Cholangpati - Gosaikunda - Singgumba 

Early morning, after having breakfast, we started walking towards Gosaikunda. We reached Buddha Mandir after walking uphill for about 1 hr 45 minutes. Buddha Mandir was very beautiful and we saw the panoramic view of different Himalayas from there. 

And finally, we reached Gosaikunda after walking for about 1 and half hour uphill from Budhha Mandir. There was also Shiva Mandir where we worshiped and enjoyed taking pictures on Gosaikunda lake. There were another lake too, which was Bhairab Kunda Lake. And if we want to reach Surya Kunda lake then it takes about 1 and half hours from Gosaikunda. 

Likewise, after enjoying and having lunch, we move down towards Singgumba. It took 3 hours to reach Singgumba.

Day 4: Singgumba - Dhunche - Kathmandu 

This day was Holi and also the birthday of one of our friend. Early morning after having breakfast, we move down to Dhunche. It took about 4 hours to reach Dhunche from Singgumba. After we reached Dhunche, we enjoyed playing with colours, celebrated our friend’s birthday, had our lunch and returned back to Kathmandu.
