Baraha Pokhari is one of the religious destination situated at Khotang district of Nepal, at an altitude of 3200 m and is known as one of the holy place for Hindus. The holy lake, the beautiful lush greenery, Gurung and Tamang villages and the scenic view of mountains such as Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Langtang, Mt. Hiunchuli, etc makes this place a more beautiful one. People believe that worshiping the goddess of Baraha Pokhari helps our wish come true.

Itinerary:

(NOTE: This itinerary starts from and end with Kathmandu)

Day 1: Kathmandu - Besisahar (760 m)

Day 2: Besisahar - Phaliya Sangu (Dalal) - Purano Duwar (1600 m)

Day 3: Purano Duwar - Baraha Pokhari (3200 m)

Day 4: Baraha Pokhari - Himal Chuli (4200 m) - Chitrea Dada (2800 m)

Day 5: Chitrea Dada - Besisahar (760 m)

Day 6: Besisahar - Kathmandu (1400 m)


Day 1: Kathmandu - Besisahar (760 m)

This day, we’ll travel by bus and it takes about 5 - 5:30 hours to reach Besisahar. Overnight: Hotel/Lodge.

Day 2: Besisahar - Phaliya Sangu (Dalal) - Purano Duwar (1600m)

This day, we’ll travel to village of Phaliya Sangu (Dalal) by bus from Besisahar. This place is also known as Archalbot. And we will start our trek from Phaliya Sangu, passing through many villages, seeing the mesmerizing view of mountains. It takes about 6-7 hours to reach Purano Duwar. Purano Duwar is the home of Tamang community. Overnight: Camping 

Day 3: Purano Duwar - Baraha Pokhari  (3200 m)

This day, we only have to walk uphill to reach Baraha Pokhari. It takes 6-7 hours to reach Baraha Pokhari. We will see the scenic views of lush greenery everywhere on this day. Overnight: Camping 

Day 4: Baraha Pokhari - Himal Chuli (4200 m) - Chitrea Dada (2800 m)

This day, we’ll explore the surroundings of Baraha Pokhari and worship the goddess of Baraha Pokhari. Baraha Pokhari is a small pond surrounded by lush greenery and during April- May, the pond will be surrounded by rhododendron flowers from all sides. Heading further from Baraha Pokhari, we’ll reach Himal Chuli which is at an altitude of 4200 m and can see the mountains such as: Machhapuchre, Annapurna, Hiunchuli, Manasly North, Manaslu, Nadichuli and Budhha Himal. Again after exploring Himal Chuli, we’ll climb down to Baraha Pokhari, have a lunch and move down to Chitrea Dada which can be reached after 4 - 5 hours of walk. Overnight: Camping 

Day 5: Chitrea Dada - Besisahar  (760 m)

This day, after having lunch, we’ll head towards Besisahar. We’ll reach Besisahar after 6-7 hours of walk. Overnight: Hotel/ Lodge

Day 6: Besisahar - Kathmandu (1400 m)

This day, we’ll drive towards Kathmandu from Besisahar by bus. It takes 5- 5:30 hours to reach Kathmandu.
